A Retail Opportunity

 

When we appraise and value your item, if we feel that it may perform better in a retail environment, we will offer you the exclusive opportunity to do so. Mark Hill Auctions is located within The Pantiles Arcade, a large antiques centre offering thousands of works of art, antiques, jewellery and collectors' pieces for sale from top dealers in their fields.

In that instance, our valuation reply to you will include suggested retail price for your item, together with the auction estimate. If you agree, we will then hand your item to our retail partner Scottish Antiques (The Hoard Ltd). They will describe and photograph it, and will post it for sale on their website (below). It will also be displayed for sale in our luxurious Galleria showrooms at The Pantiles Arcade. The Galleria is run by trained staff, and a least one expert is always on site to help guide browsers and buyers.

If your item hasn't sold after an agreed period of time, let's talk - it can then be consigned for sale in our next applicable auction. 

 

Fully insured & shipped

Once we or Scottish Antiques have taken possession of your item, it is fully insured. You will be given a receipt for your item(s), which will include a basic description, further details and a receipt number, as well as your contact details. If your item sells online, packing and postage will be handled by our trained packing staff at no cost to you.

What does it cost?

All items sold through our retail partner Scottish Antiques are subject to the applicable Seller's Commission below, which will be deducted from the selling price

Items sold for under £1,000 21% + VAT
Items sold for over £1,000 18% + VAT

You will be paid the balance by The Hoard Ltd within two weeks of the sale of your item(s).
