Do you offer Condition Reports?

All our lots are accompanied by a full description, numerous high quality photographs and a full condition report. If you require any more information, or have a specific questions, just get in touch and we'll do our best to help you.

Do you offer packing and shipping?

Yes! We offer an in-house packing and shipping service and approximate quotes are given in advance on the lot description page to help you work out what you may pay in total for your lot(s). Let us know that you'd like your item packed and shipped by us and we will be in contact with an accurate total cost for packing and shipping if you are successful in your purchase(s).

We ship internationally, although there may be a limited number of countries that we cannot ship to.

Please note that there are some items that we will not be able to pack and ship. This may be because due to the fragility of an item, its size, its weight, its value, or due to other restrictions. Where possible, this will be noted on the lot description page.

We can also recommend other, third party shippers and 'White Glove' delivery services should you require them.

Do you offer anything else?

Yes! Two additional services that make Mark Hill Auctions stand out from its competitors are a retail opportunity and the purchase of scrap gold and silver for unbeatable prices.

What is a retail opportunity?

If we feel that your item may perform better in a retail environment than in an auction, our appraisal and valuation may at our discretion also include a suggested retail price. If you agree, we will then hand your item to our retail partner Scottish Antiques (The Hoard Ltd). They will describe and photograph it, and will post it for sale on their website. It will also be displayed for sale in the luxurious Galleria showrooms at The Pantiles Arcade.

If your item hasn't sold after an agreed period of time, it can then be consigned for sale in our next applicable auction.

For more information, see A Retail Opportunity.

Do you buy gold & silver?

Yes, we do - through our partner Scottish Antiques. Some silver and gold just isn't worth putting through the auction process, where fees can take a large proportion of the value away from you. If you have items made from silver and gold that aren't worth putting into auction, we'll refer you to our partner Scottish Antiques, who can make you an unbeatable offer. For more information, please see Buying Gold & Silver
