A late 19th century mahogany and brass Ross Magic Lantern, the mahogany base with inset 'ROSS LONDON' makers plaque, with brass bound ROSS lens with rack and pinion focus, wooden slide changer, cover and chimney, electrified illumination with concave mirror, metal carbon arc marked 'PATENT 9225 1910', lacking glass cylinder and possibly some other components, contained in a red painted pine crate, lantern base 58cm long x 30cm wide, 43cm high with chimney, together with a quantity of paper bound printed glass slides, with subjects including, Little Red Riding Hood (12 slides), a Polar expedition (12 slides), chickens, chicken rearing, early church organs, misfortunes at home, a quantity of photographic slides of landscapes, and others. Condition: Very good - excellent condition with ware commensurate with age and use. Rust spots to cover and chimney, and other tinplate parts, spotting to brass lacquer and various scratches and small shallow dents to wood. Some slides with bubbling and losses to paper.

Shipping
We are sorry but this lot cannot be shipped by our in-house packing and shipping department. Therefore, it must be collected from our premises in Royal Tunbridge Wells, or you can nominate a third party packer and shipper of your choice.
