More Information

Condition: In overall very good to excellent condition, given its age, and complete and apparently original. No dents and no splits to silver gilt tops, although there is some wear to the gilding on some of the lids, particularly on the edges. The hobnail cut pattern on some of the glass bottles and jars is chipped, particularly around the edges of the bases. The perfume bottles retain their glass stoppers, but one has a large chip. The Morocco leather is intact with no losses, but have been scratched by abrasion through use causing loss of surface in places. The ruched velvet to the mirror back in the lid interior has a couple of small tears, but the velvet elsewhere is intact and plush. The box is intact with no losses to the surface or the brass binding, but there is a crack running diagonally across the top of the lid and a couple of smaller crack to the back of the lid. The M or H of the monogram on the top of the lid is lifting slightly at the top.
